Evans Transportation Services, Inc. has come a long way since its 1985 foundation above a little carpet shop in Hartland, Wisconsin.

2018, in particular, brought pivotal change for the third-party logistics solutions provider. Evans’ Founding President, Marty Johnson, retired, while the company’s Founding Executive Vice President, Charlie Keepman, took a step back from his operational duties.

In Marty and Charlie’s place entered Ryan Keepman, Evans’ now-President and former Vice President of Logistics Sales, and Jason Mansur, logistics industry careerist who left a leadership position at GlobalTranz to take over for Charlie as Evans’ Executive Vice President.

“There’s no denying Evans is a smaller company than those I was at previously. But that’s part of why I made the move. At Evans, we have this solid backbone off which we can springboard boundless innovation. We’re not held back by red tape. We roll up our sleeves together, take what we learn from our customers, carrier partners, and team, and get creative to become better for them, constantly. We’ll never stop the process. We’re on the cusp of something really exciting,” says Jason.

Exciting, indeed. In 2018 alone, under Ryan and Jason’s leadership, Evans’ revenue grew by over 20%, onboarding a record number of enterprise clients and opening two new offices – one in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and the other in Chattanooga, Tennessee – in addition to their Brookfield, Wisconsin headquarters and original satellite office in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.

How do Ryan and Jason, both young executives, manage Evans’ rapid growth?

“I have my faith and I have an amazing team I can trust,” Ryan says. “It’s incredible to see the collaboration, the passion, the intelligence, and how much everyone cares. Our team is really special.”

Jason, in particular, has been an invaluable asset to Ryan throughout Evans’ latest evolution. In fact, his ability to implement rapid change in a delicate manner has earned him a promotion to Evans’ Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective March 2019. As COO, Jason will become an even more critical contributor to Evans’ strategic growth initiatives, applying knowledge gained from his diverse logistics experience, and ensuring Evans remains true to its Guiding Principles of integrity, positivity, passion, communication, and trust.

“The best is yet to come,” says Jason. “I’m honored to be a part of this movement and a member of this team. Keep an eye out for Evans and let us know what you want to see in your 3PL. Right now, we’re digging deep into where we’ve been, who we are, and where we want to go, and there’s no better information to guide that process than that from whom we serve: shippers and carriers.”

Founded in 1985, Evans Transportation Services, Inc. is a full-service, third-party provider of custom logistics solutions for a diverse range of shippers across North America. For maximum agility, Evans is asset-less and privately owned, fueled by unmatched technology and its uncommonly dedicated team. In an industry defined by volatility, Evans’ unwavering commitment to integrity, service, and value provision facilitates an average customer retention rate of nine-plus years and team member retention rate of six-plus years. When shippers outsource their transportation management to Evans, they unlock the information, cost-savings, and speed that they need to be the best in their class.
