Humble, heartland beginnings.

Evans Transportation Services, Inc. got its start in 1985 in a small office above a carpet shop in Hartland, Wisconsin. Running on hustle and heart, it didn’t take long for Evans’ founders, Marty Johnson and Charlie Keepman, to create a customer experience so personalized that one of their regular brokerage customers asked to sign on for a complete outsourced transportation management partnership.

A TMS pioneer.

Marty and Charlie realized they’d need more sophisticated tools than their pencils and papers to support the needs of this shipper and other shippers like them. So, they coded their own transportation management system (TMS), one of the industry’s first.

Custom technology with trademark customer service.

Pairing custom technology with their trademark provision of customer service, Marty and Charlie knew they were onto something special with Evans. So, they sold their other transportation businesses to focus on what they had always done (and still do) best: strategic transportation management.

Now, Evans is led by Ryan Keepman, President, and Jason Mansur, Chief Operating Officer. Ryan and Jason’s hunger for growth is fresh, but their dedication to Evans’ Guiding Principles of Integrity, Positivity, Passion, Communication, and Trust is steadfast.
