DELAFIELD, Wis. – Evans Transportation, a full-service, third-party provider of custom logistics solutions for a diverse range of North American shippers, introduces a new service offering in Mexico with the addition of Marcelo Baptista as Vice President of Mexico Operations.

The new service offering in Mexico comes at a pivotal time as Mexico emerges as the largest trading partner for the United States, marking a significant shift in global commerce dynamics. In 2022, Mexico’s truck freight surpassed $536B, eclipsing China’s Ocean Freight at $433B. As customers are transitioning manufacturing operations to Mexico from Asia, Evans Transportation remains committed to evolving the Evans Experience to accommodate industry trends and meet the needs of customers. The new service offering is the second additional service expansion for Evans Transportation in the past year, the first being the addition of the Parcel Solutions Division.

“Inbound, Outbound and Intra-Mexico are the fastest growing transportation segments in our industry, and our largest customers have signaled Mexico as a tremendous need for them,” said Charles Miller, Chief Commercial Officer. “Our business was founded on the Evans Experience – the idea of listening and doing the right thing for our customers. This expansion in service offerings demonstrates how Evans Transportation is adapting to meet customers where they are at, while enhancing our 3PL and 4PL service offerings.”

Marcelo Baptista will lead the Mexico division in the new role of Vice President of Mexico Operations. Based in Orlando, Baptista will travel to the U.S.-Mexico border and throughout Mexico to establish strong partnerships and optimize logistics processes to build out the service offering. Having lived in Mexico City, London, Tokyo and Sao Paulo, and being fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese, Baptista’s multicultural background and extensive international experience uniquely positions him to navigate the complexities of the Mexican market and deliver exceptional results for Evans and its customers.

“We are thrilled to welcome Marcelo to the Evans family as Vice President of our newly added Mexico Operations,” said Ryan Keepman, President and CEO of Evans Transportation. “Marcelo’s track record of success, deep understanding of Latin American business operations, and, most importantly, his cultural understanding, make him the ideal leader to drive our Mexico division forward. With Marcelo at the forefront, we are confident in our ability to provide unparalleled transportation solutions and support our customers’ growth in the Mexican market.”

Baptista comes to Evans having led operations and sales efforts in the Latin American market with roles in logistics and trucking at R&L Carriers, technology at Gartner, Inc. and environmental services at Matthews Environmental Solutions.
