In today's environment, we see daily reporting about our supply chains. You can't go one day without news of a pending crisis, embargoes, collapse, government mandate, new Bills, etc.

Highlighted below are some of the most recent headlines and pending impactful updates. This list is only a fraction of what is currently going on in today’s supply chain world.

  • Passage of the $1.2 Trillion Infrastructure Bill. $550 billion will be set aside for traditional infrastructure to improve roads and bridges.
  • The administration has implemented a mandate for all employers of 100 employees or more to be vaccinated or weekly testing. If there is a failure to comply, there could be fines of up to $14,000 per instance.
    • Effective date: January 4th, 2022.
    • US Court of Appeals has issued an emergency stay.
  • Effective November 1st several carriers have adjusted their excessive length rules.
    • The line in the sand for many LTL’s is 8 feet.
    • Some carriers will not haul anything over 8’ while others have increased their accessorial charges significantly.
  • Despite LA/Long Beach ports agreement to operate 24/7, there are still a record number of ships at anchor. (And the Port of Vancouver continues to face challenges).
    • There are also new compounding fines of $100 per day for containers that pass their date for pickup.
