We sat down with Brett Bauer, Vice President of Business Development, and talked about what keeps Evans moving forward. We also talked about a specific drink recipe you may want to get from him, but you'll have to read to the end to find out what that is.
What gets you excited about what you do at Evans?
When I work with multiple levels at an organization, we can bring that team together to make a collaborative business decision that benefits that company and its various business units.
What’s your favorite type of customer?
A collaborative customer. One that not only wants to make their organization better but to make Evans better as well. Being open and candid will make the partnership better. Addressing any issues or challenges immediately with transparency can prevent many problems down the road. I love that Evans is a highly transparent organization. The more transparent our clients can be, the better solutions we will provide, and the longer our relationships will last.
Adapting to COVID. How’s it been?
The biggest challenge for me has been not being able to be in front of people face to face as much I would like. Virtual meetings are great, but there’s something special about shaking someone’s hand and being able to sit down with them on a more personal level. I love building and forming relationships, which is more challenging in this environment.
What’s the most important thing a customer is looking for from Evans?
They are looking for solutions that will positively affect all the business units. The CFO wants to know how it will affect costs, and accounting may want to know how it will improve their department's efficiency, while transportation may be saying, “Are the products going to be picked up and delivered on time?” Rightfully so, they should all be thinking about their business unit and how Evans can positively impact them.
When we say "consistency" and "Evans," what does that mean to you?
We have built an excellent foundation with great people, proven processes, and sophisticated technology. One way we stay consistent is to stay hungry. We are always looking to improve our service offering so we can positively impact our clients.
