The Women of Evans: Jeanine Ubl

Team Evans

15 March 2024

In the spirit of growth and celebration, the Women of Evans initiative is a journey of introducing, empowering, and connecting several members of Team Evans throughout the month of March.

Our initiative aims to cultivate a supportive environment where women can thrive personally and professionally by fostering collaboration and building bridges across Evans. What better way to celebrate Women's History Month and International Women's Day on March 8th than to introduce several Women of Evans? Please allow us to introduce to you Senior Vice President of Finance, Jeanine Ubl- in her words.

Biography

I have worked in multiple accounting roles over the last 20 years and have a BBA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, an MBA from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh, and a Graduate Certificate in Data Analytics from the University of Maryland. Prior to joining the Evans team, I worked for Oshkosh Corporation (Defense), the Board of Governors for the Federal Reserve, the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, Johnson Controls, DRS Technologies and now call Evans Transportations Services my ‘home’.

On the personal side, my husband, Chris, and I are blessed to have two little girls, Taylor and Makayla, that keep us on our toes and humor us with their silly antics. We also have an old soul of a pitbull named Trea who keeps a watchful eye on our family but will easily run off with a stranger that has a box of treats. In our free time, you will find us camping ‘up north’ near Nekoosa, WI in our RV or on one of the many UTV trails.

Fun Factoids

I was born on ‘opening day of deer hunting’ in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

I went into the accounting field hoping to one day work for the FBI as a forensic accountant.

What's your favorite quote?

It is not the destination, it’s the journey." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

What motivates you?

I am a huge advocate for process improvements and love to find ways to fix processes and/or make them more efficient.

What does International Women's Day mean to you?

International Women’s Day is a day to celebrate all of the achievements women have made and are currently making in the world. It’s a day to reflect on the trailblazers before us, support others performing by our side, and encourage young women to spread their wings and aim higher than we did.

Who are the women in your life who have had a lasting impact?

I know this is going to sound cheesy, so forgive me, but I greatly admire my mother, Dorothy. She was the first ‘accountant’ that I knew growing up. I would watch her keep accurate ledgers and cash positions for our family business, Bartoli TV, that was run out of the front of our house. She also raised four children during this time, kept a garden, cooked homemade meals every night, and still found time to teach the Catholic faith to young children every week. When I think I have a busy day, I like to try and put myself in her shoes at my age and it makes me realize how ‘easy’ I have it.
