The Women of Evans: Kelley Baum

Team Evans

19 March 2024

In the spirit of growth and celebration, the Women of Evans initiative is a journey of introducing, empowering, and connecting several members of Team Evans throughout the month of March.

Our initiative aims to cultivate a supportive environment where women can thrive personally and professionally by fostering collaboration and building bridges across Evans. What better way to celebrate Women's History Month and International Women's Day on March 8th than to introduce several Women of Evans? Please allow us to introduce to you Account Manager, Kelley Baum- in her words.

Biography

Evans_WOE Kelley headshot w frameI grew up in the town of New Berlin, WI, where I survived being the youngest of five siblings and now play auntie to a lively crew of nine nieces and nephews. My household is ruled by two rescued furballs: Lando, a wise 9-year-old Lab Pointer, and Piper, a pint-sized 7-year-old Chiweenie (yep, that's a fancy term for a Chihuahua-Dachshund mix). And mark your calendars, because on March 23, 2024, I'll be taking the leap into the journey of marriage!

Professionally, I serve as an Account Manager at Evans, a role I transitioned into from a customer service position. Prior to this, I dedicated over a decade to restaurant management.

In my free time, I find joy in strength training, yoga, and meditation, as well as cherishing moments with my family, camping under the stars with my fiancé, and hunting for treasures in thrift stores.

Fun Factoid

I did ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, and modern dancing for 15 years.

What does International Women's Day mean to you?

It highlights the accomplishments of our ancestors and emphasizes the ongoing need to empower women and young girls. It serves as a reminder of the progress made while acknowledging that there is still work to be done. The occasion provides an opportunity to expand education initiatives, raise funds, and celebrate women on a larger scale.

Who are the women in your life who have had a lasting impact?

My childhood dance teachers left a lasting impact on me. Beyond teaching intricate dance steps, they instilled in me the art of communication through movement and eye contact. They ignited a passion within me, guiding me through numerous recitals and competitions. Their mentorship cultivated discipline, patience, and enhanced my memory skills with each step mastered. Their unwavering dedication and passion for teaching shaped my profound respect for them then and continue to provide me with valuable lessons that endure a lifetime.
